I’m finally back. I’m so pooped! I pulled weeds all weekend, which was stupid, but I just wanted to be outside. I wanted to be DOING something and not sitting on my butt. So, I have muscle aches from weeding on top of lingering nerve tingles from the chemo. Also, I’m not sleeping well. I think it’s a side effect of something I’m taking. We’ll see how that all works out.
But compared to how I felt last week at this time, I’m like an Olympic star!
I’m going to make this post quick because I have a ton to do. Here is the most important thing I want to get across:
Yes, that’s right, we are having a party this Saturday, Aug. 19, to celebrate me reaching the 15th day after chemo. I’ve never made it to 15 days before. You see, they always fill me up with more chemo on the 14th day. I’m always feeling pretty healthy by the morning of the 14th day, then they stab me in the chest and pour in noxious chemicals. So, I have no idea what it feels like to be 15 days post-chemo! I could be totally cured! Who knows?
Here are the details of the party. You are all invited. Don’t wait for an invitation. This is it.
Open House: 1-5 p.m.
Grilling: 6 p.m.
Bonfire?: 8 p.m.
What to bring: snack or side dish or drinks. Also, you’ll want chairs, bug spray and sunscreen. If you come during the day, bring a fishing pole!
Advance help: We could use a hand or two this week to move a big pile of sticks to the bonfire area. If anyone can run a weed trimmer, I might need someone to do that as well. (We have a trimmer you can use.) Also, I might need one or two helpers Saturday morning around 11 a.m. for set up. Call me if you can do this because I may have enough people by the time you read this. And anyone there at the end of the day will be recruited for clean-up!
Call or e-mail us for directions! Come celebrate with me. I’m happy to be alive and able to do something fun!
